The Harsh Reality of the Trenches When pipes are buried, they are subjected to “Soil Stress”—the constant expansion and contraction of the earth due to moisture changes. FBE, while chemically excellent, is thin (typically 300-500 microns) and can be easily scratched by rocks during backfilling.

1. The Mechanical Shield of 3LPE DTC specializes in 3LPE-coated LSAW and SSAW pipes for municipal and energy projects. The 3-layer system acts like armor. The outer Polyethylene layer is thick (2.5mm+) and tough enough to withstand rough handling and the abrasive forces of soil movement.

2. Cathodic Protection (CP) Synergy A coating is never perfect; it works in tandem with Cathodic Protection. DTC’s 3LPE system is designed to have extremely low “CP Current Demand,” meaning your pipeline’s electrical protection system will last longer and cost less to operate.
